New Osage Nation Environmental and Natural Resources Director Announced

The new Director for the Environmental and Natural Resources Department of the Osage Nation has been announced.  Please welcome Jann Jones, former Natural Resource Specialist for the department, as the new Director.  Jann Jones is a native of Skiatook, Oklahoma.  She is also a member of the Osage Tribe.  Jann graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education and a minor in Animal Science in 2005.  From there, she completed a Masters of Agriculture degree in Agriculture Education from Oklahoma State University in 2007.  Jann began working with the Osage Nation Environmental and Natural Resources Department in 2006. 

Jann has worked with the USDA, USFWS, and EPA on several grants during her position of Natural Resource Specialist, including freshwater mussel surveillance, Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance, chlorophenoxy herbicide and organochlorine pesticide surveillance, American Burying Beetle monitoring, and Greater Prairie Chicken surveillance.  She is excited in putting her experience to good use in her new role as Director, as well as learning more about the Underground Injection Well portion of the Department.  Jann is eager to take up where the previous Director, Diane Daniels, left off by implementing new ideas and continuing the growth and success of the ENR Department.  Please feel free to contact her at (918) 287-5531 or
