Osage Nation Historic Preservation Office Delivers at Oklahoma’s 24th Annual Statewide Preservation Conference

A representative of the Osage Nation Historic Preservation Office, James Munkres, participated in the 24th Annual Statewide Preservation Conference between June 7th and 8th in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Mr. Munkres presented on the historic preservation programs of the Osage Nation in general but focused primarily on the purpose, mission, objectives and methods of the Osage Nation Historic Preservation Office. Members of the audience consisted of avocational and professional archaeologists, students, members and representatives of various tribes, representatives of federal and state agencies, and preservation specialists from the state of Oklahoma. We wish to thank the State Historic Preservation Office of Oklahoma, the Cherokee Nation, and the City of Tahlequah.
