September 27, 2012

Principal Chief John D. Red Eagle and more than 75 members of the community attended a potluck dinner and meeting at the Wah Sha She Park on Sept. 11 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

“The purpose was to gather together the local residents. It was their help and volunteering that keeps the park going,” Chief Red Eagle said. “We planned some events for October and November, and decided that the park will plan to close for winter on Dec. 31,” he added. This closing date is subject to the weather, however.

Trade Day Weekend, featuring new and used items, will be held Oct. 6 & 7 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Junior Fishing Tournament and Open Crappie Tournament will be held Oct. 20th with a weigh-in at 4 p.m. at the park shelter.

A Big Buck Contest is also being planned with the date to be announced.
