PAWHUSKA, Okla. (June 12, 2012) – The Osage Nation Department of Education has scheduled visits to eight colleges and universities for Osage students in grades 7-12. The goal is to provide opportunities for Osage students to gain knowledge and information vital to planning for higher education.
The colleges and universities students will have the opportunity to visit are Northern Oklahoma College and Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, June 19, Haskell Indian Nation University and Kansas University on Wednesday, June 20, Tulsa Community College and Northeastern State University on Tuesday, June 26, and Rose State College and the University of Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 27.
Participants will receive information about different types of higher education requirements and financial planning for each of the schools visited. Due to limited space, registration will be limited to 20 students for each visit. Each participant will need to submit a completed registration form and a copy of their Osage membership card or CDIB verifying Osage heritage. Confirmation will be provided to those who have completed registration.
Parents and students planning to attend will need to meet at the Osage Nation Department of Education at 8 a.m. in Hominy on the day of a scheduled college visit.
Lunch will be provided for participants.
